MONTPELIER - Erma Violet Hymas passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, June
25, 2009. She now joins her husband and soul mate, Jack Dee Hymas, for eternity.
Erma was born on April 21, 1928, in Geneva, Idaho, to Johann and Anna Mary Wenger
Widmer. She was one of ten children. Erma was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-day Saints. She was a faithful member who held many church callings. Besides her
church callings, she loved crafts and making things for her family, such as quilts, sewing
for her grandchildren, crocheting dolls and afghans. She loved her flower garden. She had
a green thumb and could make anything grow. She was very active and was always doing
things for her family.
She is survived by her son, Orson Blake Hymas, of St. Charles, Mo., a daughter, Carolyn
Dee Stettler, of Boise, Idaho, and one brother, David Widmer, of Logan, Utah. She has
seven grandchildren and 13 greatgrandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 1, 2009, in Paris Idaho Stake Center at
10 a.m. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday evening at Matthews Mortuary in
Montpelier from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Wednesday at the church in Paris from 9 to 9:45 a.m.
The interment will be in the Liberty Cemetery.
