MONTPELIER - Kenny Arnell "Jim" Hansen, 74, passed from this life and into
the arms of our Father in Heaven on October 8, 2010. Jim was born on February 21, 1936, in
Sharon, Idaho, to Harley V. and Arvilla Hymas Hansen. He was the youngest of five
children. Jim attended schools in Paris, Idaho, until he began working in the timber for
On September 17, 1954, Jim met the love of his life and best friend, Eunice Walker.
They were married in Liberty, Idaho, on July 25, 1955, and later sealed for time and all
eternity in the Logan LDS Temple.
Jim served in the United States Army in Fort Ord, California. He drove produce truck
for eight years, and worked as a heavy equipment operator, retiring from Chevron Oil,
Kemmerer Coal Mine. He was a member of the United States Mine Workers of America.
Jim is survived by his loving wife Eunice of Montpelier, Idaho; daughter, Mary Ann
Hansen of Pocatello, Idaho; son and daughter-inlaw, Scott and Maryalene Hansen and beloved
grandson, Kenny Neal Hansen of Bennington, Idaho; brother, Kent (Sandy) Hansen of
Montpelier, Idaho, both brother-in-law and sisterin-law; and many nieces and nephews, and
Walter Castillo of Montpelier, Idaho, who Jim loved as a son.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 16, 2010, at 3 p.m. at the
Montpelier LDS First Ward Chapel. There will be a family visitation prior to services from
2 to 2:50 p.m.
Jim was loved by all who knew him. Although our world will never be the same without
him, his smile, his laughter, and twinkling eyes, his generous, gentle, loving nature will
live on in our hearts and memories forever.
