Hoover faithfully served an LDS mission in the Southern States Mission.
Upon his return from the mission field, He joined the U.S. Marine Corps and served in
the Philippine Islands. He loved his country and was proud and grateful to serve. He
exemplified the U.S.M.C. motto, Semper Fi. We loved to hear him sing the Marine Corps

Dad was employed for more than 35 years at Monsanto and made many good friends there.
He enjoyed helping those in need. Many of his neighbors had running water in their
homes during the Winter months because of his kindness and homemade welder.
Dad enjoyed working with his hands and could fix or build anything.
Traveling with family members to watch them participate in sporting events brought him
great joy and satisfaction over the years. He was their biggest fan.
Dad was an optimist and always looked on the bright side of things.
