GENEVA - Edith Cynthia Leissring Parslow, 92, died Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2003, at the Bear
Lake Skilled Nursing Facility in Montpelier. She was born July 25, 1911, in Geneva, Idaho,
to William Carl and Mary Elizabeth Lashbrook Leissring. She attended school in Geneva and
some high school in Montpelier.
She married William Lyle Parslow in Paris, Idaho, on Nov. 26, 1934. The marriage was later
solemnized in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple on March 10, 1966. He passed away in 1989.
She spent her life working on the farm with her family and also cooked for the Etcheverry
Ranch for a time. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints, and held many positions during her lifetime. She loved art and was a good artist
herself, doing most of her work in pencil sketching and oil painting. She also loved
needlework and making quilts. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother, and will
be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Edith is survived by three sons, Kenneth (Eldora) Parslow of Ogden, Utah, William R.
(Bernice) Parslow of Geneva, Idaho, Victor L. (Julia) Parslow of Monroe, Utah; 17
grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, two
brothers, Edward and Charles, and one sister, Sylvia Hirschi.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Aug. 23 at 11 a.m., in the Geneva LDS Ward Chapel,
where friends may call that morning from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Burial will be in the
Geneva Cemetery, under the direction of Matthews Mortuary of Montpelier, Idaho.
