FISH HAVEN, Idaho -- Kent Austin Kimball, 64, passed away Sunday, Feb. 8, 2004, at his
home in Fish Haven. He was born July 22, 1939, in Montpelier, Idaho, the son of Leslie C.
and Ruth Austin Kimball. He enjoyed the outdoors, hiking, snowshoeing, hunting, fishing
and photography. After his retirement from Bear Lake County Road and Bridge in 1999 he
spent many hours in his yard, garden and in his woodshop building bears and moose.
Kent is survived by his wife of 33 years, Lorraine Cook Kimball; four sons, Monty K.
Walker of Ogden, Jody C. (Nicky) Kimball of Nibley, Shaun D. Kimball of Logan and Brandon
K. Kimball of Chubbuck, Idaho; three grandchildren; his father, Leslie C. Kimball of Fish
Haven; two brothers, Todd (Mary Evelyn) Kimball of Fish Haven and Terry (June) Kimball of
Garden City; and two sisters, Susan Mattson of Garden City and Penny (Dave) Grant of
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Austin Kimball; a brother, Gary; and a
brother-in-law, Otto Mattson.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 12, 2004, in the Bear Lake Ward
Chapel in Garden City, where friends may call that morning from 11:30 a.m. until 12:45
p.m. Burial will be in the Garden City Cemetery, with services under the direction of
Matthews Mortuary of Montpelier.
