MONTPELIER - Douglas Owen Freeman, 19, beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and
friend, passed into his Heavenly Father's love and care on Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2004 at
Bear Lake Memorial Hospital in Montpelier, Idaho with members of his family around him.
Owen was born with a smile and twinkle and a personality that brought sunshine into all
our lives. He loved sports, especially football and basketball. He lettered in both at
Bear Lake High School and had a special friendship with Coach Craig Culver.
Owen worked very hard despite the battle he was waging against his cancer, and graduated

as sports. He will be remembered by all at Bear Lake High with love. Besides high school
sports, Owen was also an avid bowler and won many awards for his bowling. He loved
camping, hunting and fishing with his family and loved going to the lake. He could always
be counted on to find the fun and the good in all things and in all people. His heart was
as wide and open as the mountains that he loved.
Owen had a special relationship with his Uncle Don and Aunt Clara Toomer and lived with
