MONTPELIER — Geraldine Jenkins Stephens, 70, passed away Thursday, June 28, 2001, at her
home in Montpelier, Bear Lake, Idaho, after a long and courageous battle with multiple
sclerosis. She handled life’s trials without complaint.
Geraldine was born June 3, 1931, in Freedom, Wyoming, the sixth child of Wilford Lorenzo
and Annie Mabel Erickson Jenkins.
She met and married her husband, Ralph Stephens, on November 7, 1950, in the Logan, Utah
She was an active member of the LDS Church, holding many positions. She enjoyed
needlework, crafts, quilts, gardening, hunting, fishing, camping and most of all being
with her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and will be
Geraldine is survived by her husband, Ralph, of Montpelier; daughters, Jeanette (Don)
Allen, Laurie (Ken) Smith, Diane (Scott) Coffin, four grandchildren, all of Salt Lake
City, Utah; and a sister, Leda Robinson of Freedom, Wyoming. She was preceded in death by
her parents, three brothers and a sister.
Funeral services will be held Monday, July 2 at 11 a.m. in the Montpelier Stake Center, at
340 North Sixth St. Friends may call at Matthews Mortuary on Sunday evening, July 1 from 7
p.m. to 9 p.m., and on Monday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m., and burial
will be in the Montpelier, Idaho Cemetery.
