Sara Ann Madsen Jensen, 96, passed away at her home in Preston, Idaho, the morning of
Friday, April 11, 2003. She was born in Bloomington, Idaho, on Sept. 16, 1906, to Jacob
and Mary Catherine Madsen, the youngest of six children. She has been a resident of
Preston for over 60 years.
Sara graduated from the University of Utah in 1930 and was a member of the Kappa Kappa
Gamma Sorority. She married D. Glenn Jensen on Sept. 17, 1942, in Pocatello, Idaho.
Sara was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various
capacities in the Primary and Young Women organizations. She enjoyed sewing, traveling,
reading, lifelong learning and keeping current with national and world events. She was an
active member of Pickwick Club and American Association of University Women. She managed
her dry farm for some 30 years following her husband's passing. She was a totally
devoted mother and would do anything for her daughters.
Sara is survived by three daughters, Marianne (Terry) Dabel of North Salt Lake, Dianne
(Melvin) Greaves of Centennial, Colo., and Sheila (Sam) Roser of Snowflake, Ariz.; 12
grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
A viewing and short service will be held Monday, April 14, at noon at Webb Mortuary.
Burial will be at the Logan, Utah, Cemetery. Arrangements are by Webb Mortuary of Preston,
