Alexander Robert Sharp, beloved husband and father, died July 11, 2004 after a battle with
cancer. He was born October 9, 1931 in Montpelier, Idaho, the son of Stephen and Mary
Wells Sharp. He married Shirley Higginbotham on November 5, 1960 in East Providence, Rhode
Alexander graduated from Jordan High School. He served his country in both the Navy and
Army. He retired from Kennecott Copper in 1994. He coached Bobby Sox Softball for many
years and was a member of the Hootenanny Bowling League and was a member of St.
Stephen's Episcopal Church.
Survived by his wife, Shirley; daughters, Wendy and Tracy; sisters, Agnes Knowles, Amy
(Bob) Crigger, Alberta (Henry) Galvan; sisters-in-law, Joan (Gerard) Ottaviano, Francis
Potter, Luanne Sharp; brother-in-law, Norman Hendrix; also many nieces and nephews. Also
survived by special loved ones, Pam, Russ, Kim, Barrett, Bryce, Levi, Ellie, and Hunter
Jessop, Barbara and Dick Bushnell. Preceded in death by a son, Kyle; parents; brothers and
sisters. A special thanks to Rocky Mountain Hospice, especially Frankie and Valerie for
their loving care and support. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 16, 2004 at 1:00
p.m. in the Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State, where friends may call Friday from 10:00 a.m.
to 12:45 p.m. Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens.
