COEUR D'ALENE - Ross Bagley, 75, of Coeur d'Alene, died Friday, Sept. 14,
2007, at a local nursing home. He was born Jan. 24, 1932, in Montpelier, Idaho, the son of
Oral and Lillian Bagley.
Ross leaves his wife, Marilyn of 47 years; and three children, Gay and Reza
Mansouri-Rad of Las Cruces, N.M., Marie and Larry Hensley of Manassas, Va., and Bryan and
Wendy Bagley of Woburn, Mass.; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Ross is also
survived by his sister and her husband, Fay and Calvin Parrott of Buhl.
After graduating from Idaho State University and serving honorably in the military,
Ross started city swim teams in Pocatello, Coeur d'Alene and Grangeville. He was a
school teacher and coach in Mackay, Pocatello, and Riggins for 30 years. Ross devoted his
life to education, coaching and outdoor activities. An accomplished river man, he worked
as a guide for both whitewater rafting and fishing trips on the Salmon River. While he had
many dramatic successes (nationally ranked AAU swimmers, several Idaho State basketball
championships), his professional legacy is the decades of Idaho youth he taught life
skills to while teaching in Idaho public schools. His fondest memories were of his family,
the students he coached, and his hunting and fishing times with friends.
At his request, no service will be held. Ross requests you spend quality time with
your loved ones.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of North Idaho,
