MONTPELIER, Idaho - Junior S. "Friday" Wells, 77, died Monday, July 22, 2007,
at the Portneuf Medical Center of
natural causes. He was born October 24, 1929, in Montpelier, Idaho, to Orlando William and
Winterbottom Wells. He served in the Army during the Korean campaign. Later he worked
various ranch jobs in the Caribou and Bear Lake areas. He then retired from Agrium in
Junior married Cleone Wallentine on September 2, 1955, in Paris, Idaho, and the
marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. To this union were born 5 children.
Diana (Ronald) Payne of Paris, Idaho, Randall (Cindy) of Preston, Idaho, Patricia ( Mark)
Larsen of Logan, Utah, Karen Muir of Montpelier, and Stephen (Mary) of Bloomington, Idaho.
Junior loved the mountains and preparing Dutch oven dinners for family and
get-togethers. In his younger years he liked to break and ride horses and later enjoyed
mountain rides on his four wheeler. His greatest joys were his wife and children. He was
happiest when he could tease or pull a funny trick on his family and friends.
Junior is survived by his wife, all his children, 14 grandchildren, one greatgrandson,
three brothers, Larry Gene "Butch" (Sharon) of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Buddy Lee
(Dana) of Soda Springs, Idaho, and Laurel Ray "Bink" (Chris) of Reno, Nevada,
four brothers-inlaw, Hal Wallentine (Ann) of Meridian, Idaho, Keith Wallentine of
Kemmerer, Wyoming, Frank (Renee) Wallentine of Roy, Utah, and Joe "Bud" (Maxine)
Webber of Cheyenne, Wyoming and one sister-in-law, Jolyn Wallentine of Pocatello.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Mae Webber and Beth Koon, and
five brothers, Charlie, Vernon, Rex, Gus and Darrel.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 6, at 11 a.m. at the Montpelier LDS Stake
Center where friends may visit with family that morning from 10 until 10:45 am. The
interment will be in the Montpelier Cemetery.
