This census covers residents in the Good Shepherd Home, perhaps its for
aged, orphaned children, etc.....or those with no one to look after them.

I'm new to this list, and I do research on HUDELSON. The 1930
for Sioux City, District 52, shows Rose Mae HUDELSON, age 12 years, as
one of twenty five girls and women who are described as "Inmates."
The institution of which they were inmates isn't clear to me.
Ages for the women and girls range from 40 to 8. There are no men
shown as "inmates."
What sort of institution might have been located in District 52 at
Sioux City which would house female children? If an orphanage, what
explains the adult females? If a prison, why no males? Might it be a
woman's hospital, or a poorhouse?
