George Ashley Nicholas
George Ashley Nicholas of Bothell died Jan. 4, 2000 in Yakima. He was
Mr. Nicholas was born July 21, 1924, in Sioux City, Iowa. He
from Bothell High School in 1942 and had lived on the Eastside since 1930.
He served in the Navy during World War II and completed his service in
Mr. Nicholas owned and operated a greenhouse in Bellevue. He also
worked for The Boeing Co., Seattle City Light, in the real estate industry and
for McDonald�s until his retirement.
He was a scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 421 of Woodinville and
hiking and photography. Mr. Nicholas loved gardening and especially enjoyed
growing large tomatoes. He also was a member of Eagles Aerie 2568.
He is survived by his sons, Bradley Nicholas of Goldbar and Paul
Nicholas; sisters Mary Johnson of Bothell and Beverly Beardsley of Sumter,
S.C.; two grandchildren; and one great-granchild.
A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Woodinville
Methodist Church, 17110 140th Ave. N.E. Burial will be at Floral Hills at a
