I am searching for burial location, headstone dates, etc. for several
Christ Petersen b. abt 1838, d. abt 1890-1900 and
Cecelia (Suhl) Petersen b. abt 1848, d. abt 1930-40
My grandfather Herman Petersen b. abt 1876, d. 1918
Note: 1880 census has Christ(ian) and Cecelia Petersen farming and living
in Wolf Creek, Woodbury, IA After about 1890, they farmed "near Anthon,
IA". Herman left Iowa and died in Dec 1918 homesteading in Saskatchewan,
but was reportedly brought back home for burial.
Herman's sister, Lizzie (Petersen) Cornils b. abt 1879 and living in Anthon
Herman's brother, Oswald Petersen about whom I know almost nothing.
Larry found several other Petersen relatives buried at Arlington Twp, but
had no luck with these.
Thanks for any assistance.
I am seeking descendants of the Charles Peter Murray family of Sioux
City, Iowa. He was born about 1863 in Ireland. Charles married Minerva
Cooley on 13 Feburary 1896. She was born 7 April 1876 in Hamburg, Iowa.
She died 11 January 1947, place unknown. They had several children,
including George C., Nell, Burkman, Alice, Dean, Joseph and Cecelia. They
lived in Sioux City and are listed on the 1920 Federal Census there. In the
1930 Federal Census Charles and Minerva are in Omaha, Nebraska.
You might know that the newspaper above was published between 1882 and about 1971 in Breda, IA and later in Wall Lake, IA.
Now I'm looking for issues of this newspaper between 1916 and 1971 and clippings of obituaries. I would appreciate your answer if you have those items.
The clippings can be send by Email (frisian(a)netins.net) or snail mail to my address (P. O. Box 269, Titonka, Iowa 50480-0269). In return I would send you a translation of the obituary/obituaries.
Thank you very much in advance for your help.
