Have you contacted all of your Grandfather's siblings descendants for help?
I see in 1900 he had three brothers and 2 sisters.

Subject: [IAWAYNE] HELP NEEDED (SORRY)
WI believe the BENJAMIN GILINSKY mentioned in an November 6, 1903, Humeston
Advocate article, "NEWS IN IOWA", was my grandfather. It reads (in part):
"nearly a score of petty robberies are now charged against Benjamin Gilinsky
and Chas. Irwin, two Council Bluffs boys, scarcely in their teens, who seem
to have a mania for this kind of mischief. Both have been arrested and
Gilinsky is locked up in default of $50 bond."
I never met him, but family members say that he did not talk
about his early life. I'm doing genealogy research on the family, and Ben
certainly was an interesting guy...professional boxer, logger, ice cream
maker among other professions in Oregon (I pick him up in Oregon in 1909,
age 18). He was back in Council Bluffs (died there in 1943) as Mgr of the
Western Brew Co.
Does anyone have any idea as to how I can find out what the disposition of
arrest mentioned in the article was? Was he sent "up the river"? Did the
family disown him? Was he the proverbial "black sheep" of the family? I
believe this arrest has a lot to do with his move west. If I can provide
any additional information, please let me know.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
