I am searching for Frank Graham of Birmingham, Iowa. He married Jennie
Newell in Fairfirld Iowa on December 31, 1883. I believe that he may be a
relative of mine but I do not have him on my family tree. There was a Frank
Graham of Birmingham Iowa who had a father named Simon Graham. Everything
fits but I cannot be sure that this is the same person. Birmingham is in
Van Buren County, Iowa. Jennie Newell appears on the 1880 census. Her
father was George Newell.
The reason I think he might be a relative is that it would explain where my
Uncle Newell Jacobson got his first name. The mother of Newell was Mary
Elizabeth Graham (1879-1956), who was my grandmother. Her family lived in
the Fairfield area at one time. We know that Newell was a family name but
we do not know from where it came since we have not been able to find any
relatives named Newell.
