We recently were at the Tama County Genealogy Society -- BTW, the most
complete and best organized collection I've seen at the county level.
We found the obit for George BEECHER, d 1912, and buried at the Buckingham
Cemetery. According to the cemetery book, on his tombstone is also
"Edna - " His obit says his widow was named Louise, thouigh we
know that she is in fact Lucy.
I have 2 questions. Is there someone who could look at that tombstone and
see if it could possibly be Lucy instead of Edna? And, is there a sexton's
record for that cemetery where we could find whether anyone is actually
buried beside George. Since there are no dates, I'm suspecting that she
died and was buried in some other county or even some other state.
Thanks for any suggestions or help. We've been on the trace of this
g-grandmother for a long time and still haven't been able to "put her to rest."
