Hi. I'm new to this list. I'm hoping to find information about the following family:
According to family lore: Gregar(Greggar) Stenersen(son) and his wife Ingeborg Andersdatter (Lein), my g grandparents, immigrated to the US from Telemark, Norway in the spring of 1867 and settled in Story City, IA. With them came their children, Gunhild b. 2/21/1865 and Anders G.(Andrew) b. 1/15/1867, Gregar's brother, Leif b. 10/28/1826, Leif's wife, Thora (Tone) Braenna, Gregar's sister, possibly Anne b. 5/13/1833, Gregar's parents Stener Leifsen b. 3/6/1796 OR 1800 and Gunhild Holjesdatter (Holjesen) b. 1800 and two of Ingeborg's brothers, Hans and Ole Andersen.
Gregar and Ingeborg had two more children while in Iowa. They were Annie M. b. 6/29/1873 and Stener b. 6/25/1875. (NOTE: Stener may actually have been born in Minnesota). Sometime in the mid 1870s they all left Iowa for Minnesota.
I have checked various genealogy sites over the years and have never found any results showing any of them in Iowa at all. Surely after all of them living in Story City area for the better part of 8 years there must be something! I'm hoping someone here, maybe with more expertise and/or access to offline data, can come up with some references. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hope I didn't give you an entirely wrong impression. In my case (and I
assume in all cases of that era) the parents are not listed. However, I
still wanted a copy of the license and glad I got it...........their very
ornate, very interesting.

Could someone tell me if a marriage license/application in 1882 would list
the names of the parents? I am specifically looking for any information
regarding the marriage of William Livinghouse to Lu Laughoof on February 8,
1882. Thank you for any help- Ahlive
