A group of 40 from the Kvinnherad area will be in Story City June
24th thru 26th (Saturday, Sunday, Monday). Their tour arrives in
Mlps on the 22nd, then goes to Mankato for the annual Vestlandslaget
meeting and then on to Iowa. They will stay at the Viking Inn in
Sister City celebrations include an "All Iowa Picnic" and tours of
the county, but they have free time to meet with local friends, too.
People who would travel half way around the world to spend three
days in Story City must have some special motive - they are
interested in seeing the heartland, where their relatives settled
when they left Norway. For example, my cousins from the Tofte farm
on Halsnøy will be looking for the farmland that Henry J. Toft
bought for his family in 1894 just north of Story City. Boy, are
they going to be impressed with all that corn!

Hello all -
It turns out that the software which the database programs use to provide all
the goodies on the Story Co page is broken (on Sat Apr 1st). The people who
provide the systems and software that the databases are located on are aware
of the problem and indicate it should be resolved "soon." (I know, where have
we heard that before.)
I haven't updated you on new things at the site for quite a while. But if you
have been there you know new data is being added all the time. Just don't try
to get at it right now! :)
