re:Latham - A. B. ( Arno) Latham - wife Goldie Gause Latham - Searsboro, Iowa.
I am Doris L. Latham of Rockford, Illinois. My sister is Ann Latham Lickey of Orem, Utah. We are the daughters of Floyd Gause Latham. Floyd and his brother Orrin were the sons of Arno and Goldie Latham.
We are working on our family history. We have some information and are looking for information.
Ann found a site on the internet for Goldie Gause Latham:
Since Floyd and Orrin have both passed away. We are now working on Grandfather Latham. I have read the Searsboro Centennial which covered the history of Searsboro, Iowa from 1876 to 1976.
We are looking for any information. We know that there were relatives in Lynville and Grinnell.
Thanks for any help that you can send our way.

Hello All :-)!!! I am hoping that I am narrowing down my search for my ROUSE
Family...but I need some help from SKS , (Some Kind Soul :-), out there
:-)!!! I was given the information from a kind lady that my Great Great
Great Grandmother MARGARET DAVIES ROUSE, born 1836 in WALES, is possibly
buried in the HAZELWOOD Cemetery, supposedly in the town of Grant...which I
can't find, but I did find a Hazelwood Cemetery in POWESHIEK COUNTY, IOWA. I
know that my ROUSE Family did live in GRINNELL, POWESHIEK CO. IOWA,
according to the 1880 census, & that Margaret Rouse was not listed with her
family there, & I also found out that she had died previous to the census.
SKS told me that she found a MARGARET ROUSE, died at age 43, (b. approx 1836
then), on Dec. 24th, 1879, listed as wife of F. ROUSE, in the HAZELWOOD
CEMETERY on a list. My Margaret's husband was FRANKLIN ROUSE. What I need
to find out, as this really appears to be my Maggie Rouse, is that SKS also
gave me the names of other ROUSE people buried in the HAZELWOOD cemetery. IF
Maggie is buried next to the other Rouses, then my 20yr+ brickwall could
come down :-)!!! The other ROUSE are : FLORENCE, JAMES L., J.B., L.C.
ROUSE. J.B. ROUSE & JAMES C. ROUSE were both in the G.A.R....Co. 7th OHIO,
Infantry and J.B. Rouse was a Lieut. The research that I have done on
Rev. L.C. ROUSE is that he was LUCIUS CARY ROUSE, born 25 June 1796, died 06
Sept 1866, age 70. His parents were WHITING ROUSE & DEBORAH BIERCE ROUSE, &
he was born in Cornwell, Connecticut. L.C. Rouse is buried in the same
cemetery as Rev. Josiah Bushnell GRINNELL. Lucius Rouse & Josiah Grinnell
were both Rev. for the CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH in Grinnell Twp, Iowa. Lucius
Rouse was first married to CHARLOTTE BIRDSEYE , who died before 1839 , then
FRANCES STEAD in 1839 in Detroit, Michigan. They also lived in OHIO,
before coming to Poweshiek, Iowa.
Is there SKS who can find out who MARGARET ROUSE is buried near in the
Hazelwood Cemetery??? Do ANY of these names sound familiar to anyone? Hope
to chat soon, Janet & Family
