Searching for information on John E. Wilford, wife Alice B. (Johnson) Wilford. Listed in Grinnell City with 2 daughters in 1900 census. Then, no information until 1907 when John remarries in North Dakota. The children are Ethel, Feral, Dorothy, Edith and Vernon Oliver. Any help would be appreciated.
If anyone has access to the Poweshiek Co 1900 census I would be interested to know if a Charles R. Wright (wife is Lou or Louwillie) and/or Eli Wright (wife may have been Eliza) are recorded.
Thanks, Paul W.
I am trying to figure out which Enumeration District I would find
Ewart in the 1900 Federal Census? It does not seem to have it's own
district, is it combined with another township? I am searching for
Alice Margaret GRAHAM, she was born in 1899 in Ewart, Iowa. Her
fathers name was Ginn W. Graham. Any help appreciated!

I just found out that my ancestor was living in Poweshiek County in 1860
and was wondering if someone had access to the census and could do a look up
for me? I am looking for the information on James Crawford on page 537 and
Elizabeth Crawford on page 538...both of Jefferson Twp. Thank you very much!
Sincerely, Barry Collett
The first person to die in Union Twp was my ggggrandfather, Elias Dement.
He died on 24 Dec 1847. His wife, Sarah Lyons Dement, died 25 Nov 1858. I
requested death certificates for these people from Des Moines, but of
course the years are too early. Would there be any record at the County
level? They are buried in Poweshiek Co, either in Union Twp or Forest
Home. I'm also told they are buried in the Beeson Cemetery at Montezuma.
Not being familiar with the area I'm hoping someone can clarify this for me.
Was a newspaper printed as early as 1847 or 1858? If so, is it possible to
get a copy or transcript of any possible death notices for Elias or Sarah?
Two of their 8 children also died in Poweshiek Co. Susannah Dement Crispin
died 10 Feb 1853. Isaac G Dement may have died 19 Jul 1856 or after. The
date is unclear as this also shows up to be the date he married his 3rd
wife! Either it was a tragic day for the new bride, or dates are mixed up.
His bride was Sarah Ann Cox and they were married in Poweshiek Co.
I can use any help anybody can give and it will be much appreciated.
Thanks, Kay in CA
