In mid October the day time temps average in the mid to lower 60's and
the night time temps average in the lower 40's.. Gosh that is hard to
believe we have just got below 100 the first time since June here. It
was always a time I loved. The trees had turned the pumpkins were a
bright orange and it wouldn't be long till the first snow flakes would
start to fall.. (Usually sometime in Nov.) My Grandparents lived in
Deep River and are buried in Monte. I had some aunts and uncles who
lived in Monte.. So many pleasant memories of the area. I better not start
remembering or this could get to be a long email.. Have you ever
been to Monte? You will want to take a camera and take pictures as
it was I guess I should say a pretty old midwestern town.. We moved from
Iowa 25 years ago and haven't been back.. I do hope some day I will be able
to go back and walk again in the footsteps of my youth..
On a map I have it show Des Moines is 266 miles from Peoria so it must
be close to 200 miles from Monte.. That is an estimate someone else may
be able to give closer mileage..
I am planning a trip to Montezuma in the middle of October. I would like to
know what type of weather they have there during that time?
Second question, how far is Montezuma from Peoria, IL?
Thanks for all your help.

To Essie and the list,
Thanks Essie, for the Lee post-believe this may have been from me,
Lori is still on the list, but I am answering for her. We are family and
searching for the same Lee's. I wanted to add some new info to these Lee's,
in hopes someone may recognize them and can help us find some decendants. My
changes will be in capital letters. Anyone who may recognize any of these
families, would sure appreciate some further help.
Thanks so much,

Found this information in my notes on the Lee family. Is there a
Lori Highland on this list? As this family is from Grinnell, I thought it
would be appropriate to post on the Poweshiek mailing list.
