Hello list members!
I need to take a little bit of your time to make an announcement
about our mailing list. I've made a change with our subject lines
effective this morning. You will begin seeing IAMONTGO for
every message to our list. I trust this change will be agreeable.
I will also be addressing some administrative topics as time goes

THANKS FOR YOUR LIST MEMBERSHIP! Glenn
I usually don't do this type of thing but this auction has a lot of valuable information and I did find the names on the Montgomery web pages.
This is what the ad says on the item.
I was able to enter a neighbor's house in Downers Grove, IL which was slated for demolition. An elderly man lived there and the house was in deplorable condition. He had moved leaving almost everything in the home. I retrieved several nice antiques and I also rescued boxes of photos, letters, bible, documents, baby hair, news clippings etc. that had been lovingly saved by the gentleman's mother and grandmother. I am my family genealogist and it killed me to see those items waiting for the wrecking ball. So I gathered them together and tried to locate living relatives in the towns mentioned. After about a week of investigation and many dead-end long distance phone calls, I've decided to put them on ebay. These folks came from Villisca and Red Oak, Iowa originally and had the following family names: Rockwell, Burnham, Reynolds, (Claude, Oliver, Ollie, Claudine, Carol, Ralph, Claudine, Francis, Dick, Thomas, Calvin, Ella, ). Offered in this auction is the family bible. The fron!
t cover is missing but the back cover contains handwritten family genealogy. Also, there are numerous newspaper articles folded inside the bible. Some relate to funerals, births, deaths. The bible is dated 1890. Money orders preferred, checks accepted. Shipping $5 fixed rate.
Then here is the URL for more of the items that were found.
I emailed the seller and this is what they emailed me back.
Thank you. Gertrude's father was Philander Burnham.
It's in the bible. C. Walter
The bidding is getting rather steep and I had bid on the Bible but I have no connection to this line or lines and I was just outbid.
Just wanted to let any members of this family know that this auction is really something as far as retrieving your family mementos.
