Looking for Ira Keys who I have been told died in Vermillion, Clay co., South Dakota, date unknown. But he had to have died after the 1900 census for in that year he was living in Montgomery Co, Iowa with his brother, Charles Keys. Ira Keys was born 25 Dec 1842 in Highland co, Ohio. He remained in Highland County through the 1880 census where he is enumerated with his parents in Marshall, Highland Co, Ohio. His parents were William H. Keys and Mariah Springer. Also wondering if Ira Keys ever married and had any children? Thank you, Kathleen Rizer
The 1900 census of Jackson twp, Montgomery Co, Iowa shows this family --
Charles Keys b. Feb 1865 in Ohio with wife Emma L. b. Aug 1867 in Penn. They had no children. Living with Charles and Emma is Ira Keys, born Dec 1842 in Ohio. In the 1880 Montgomery Co, Iowa census, in Villisca, is found Frank H. Keyes b. about 1851 in Ohio. I believe that Frank is another brother to Charles and Ira. Am interested in further information on these individuals as I wonder if these three men are sons of William H. Keys and Mariah Springer of Highland Co, Ohio? Thank you, Kathleen Rizer
