I have a William MCKILLIP, born 1818 in Ireland and
married to BRIDGET (last name unknown). They were in
Kenosha Wisconsin by at least 1848. William owned a
grocery store there until sometime around 1870. At
that point William seemed to "fall off the face of the
earth." His family shows up in Chicago in the 1870
census without him but we haven't been able to find a
death record in Kenosha. I was wondering if perhaps he
ended up in Iowa with a new family. Here is what I
I realize that patriotism is not enough. I must have no hatred or bitterness towards anyone.

I am trying to locate where my ggg-grandfather James DAUGHERTY is buried.
He apparently died in 1857. I am also seaching for where his wife is buried
and when she died. Her name was Jane and I think her maiden name was MOORE.
Their son John McFate DOUGHERTY was living in Story county by 1865 and got
married there to Elizabeth HOPKINS, who grew up in Monroe Co. Four of her
siblings are buried in the Bridgeport cemetery.
I am able to locate the family in the 1850 census for Pleasant Township in
If anyone knows any of their descendants, I would really enjoy getting in
contact with them. James and Jane had 8 children. Their names were Mary,
William, Elizabeth, John, Minerva, Altamina, James, and Nancy.
