Chris and anyone else, I have a map of Iowa Monroe/Wapello County 1895 and it shows Bidwell "on the road to" Ottumwa. The reason why I have this posted in Monroe is because Bidwell is shown right on the border of the two counties and
my ggrandfather lived in Monroe County. Still looking for help about that mine.
My great grandfather Emil Dominic BOGAERTS played pool professionally (or so he said in the census) in and around the Bidwell Mining Camp. He had emigrated to Monroe County in 1908 from Chatelineau, Hanuit, Belgium with wife and child. A coal miner. My request is really about the Bidwell Mining Camp. Does any listers know of where information can be obtained or perhaps have some to share?
Also Emil married a second time to a Josephine Gutcher, 1916. She is from the same area. Love to hear more if there is any. Thanks
Dee: I have information on Sarah Bell BRESSE, born 29 Sept 1866. Was

THARP CHIDESTER. She married their son, Franklin CHIDESTER on 07 Nov
1881. Sarah Bell BRESSE died on 14 April 1915. Their children

I am researching the Breese family that lived in or near Albia, Monroe
County, in the mid-to-late 1800's. Is there anyone on this mailing list that
can give me some help with this family. I understand there are some Breeses
graves in the Albia cemetery, but I wonder if there are any living
