Seeking help locating info about family of JOHN KRYGER and EMMA J. NEWCOMB,
(married 1892) whose first child, a daughter named Rachel Matilda, was born
10/10/1892 at Whiting, Monona Co. Iowa. Other children in the family may
include Roy E. KRYGER, born 1895 in Iowa, and at least two more children who
were born in Elsmore Township, Allen County, Kansas - Julia E Kryger, born
Feb 1897 and Fannie A. Kryger, born Oct 1898.
Is anyone else on this list researching this family? I would especially
like to know more about the NEWCOMB family - Emma is reported to have been
born in May 1868, either in Virginia or in West Virginia. Does anyone know
anything about her parents or siblings? Can anyone help with Census, birth
or marriage records for this couple and their children?
The background info I have indicates that John KRYGER (born Jan KRIJGER)
was born Feb 1854 in Holland, and immigrated to the USA in 1873 with
parents, Klaas Krijger/Kryger and Trijntje/Katrena Bakker. He is listed as
a farmer, was naturalized in 1889, and was married to Emma J. NEWCOMB in
With thanks for any assistance or research clues -- will share KRYGER info
that I have on other members of John Kryger's family, some of whom came to
Edmonton, Alberta, Canada
