I wanted to thank everyone for the overwhelming response to my question
about this town. I have tried to thank everyone individually and hope
that I haven't missed anyone. If I have it wasn't intentional. One lady,
Erma, found the town on a 1920 map and it's spelled "Muchachinock". Like
Buxton, it no longer exists. In the process, I've learned a lot of
history about this area. Thank you again for all the wonderful help.
I have the obit. of my aunts mother that says she was born in Muchikyok.
It doesn't say Iowa but I'm wondering if it was. The obituary goes on to
say that she lived in Knoxville before moveing to Des Moines 50 years
ago. She would have moved to Des Moines in the late 20's, early 30's. My
aunt was born in Buxton, Iowa. I don't believe this town exists anymore
so maybe Muchikyok doesn't either? If anyone has any ideas I'd love to
hear them. Thank you.
