I am researching the above named couple--they appear in the 1880 US Census
for Knoxville, Marion County, IA. It is possible that Catharine F. MILLS was
Catharine GRIMES, daughter of John GRIMES and Ellen LEACH. According to my
research, Catharine married 1) William M. EDWARDS in 1865 in Muscatine
County. They divorced--William is listed in the 1880 as divorced. I have
been trying to find Catharine for some time; I reread the obituary for her
brother, Felix GRIMES, who passed on in 1910. Six of his nephews were
pallbearers at his funeral, one of them a J. W. MILLS. I am wondering if
there is some kind soul out there on the list who could look for a marriage
record, death/cemetery record for W. R. MILLS (age 31 in 1880, born OH) and
Catharine MILLS (born abt 1847/1848/1849 in OH). I would gladly reimburse
for time, effort and expenses. Thanks in advance for any help or

Twenty-four years ago this month, MRS. DAVID HUGHES, wife of a farmer
living west of Knoxville, made a contract with O.J. KENDIG, a Knoxville
Grocer, whereby to furnish him all the butter produced by the HUGHES'
cows. The price agreed on was fixed at 30 cents a pound from May until
November and 35 cents from November until May.
During those twenty-four years, MRS. HUGHES furnished the grocer with
more than 60,000 pounds of butter for which he paid her very nearly
$2l,000. MRS. HUGHES marketed a weekly average of 66 pounds of butter
and some weeks sold as high as 80 pounds.
From the profits of her butter making, MRS. HUGHES has purchased two
good Marion County farms. The contract expired this month when MR.
KENDIG retired from the grocery business.

I'm looking for info on Rutledge Dyer's 2nd marriage. Was it to Lou Huggins? I show that Guy Samuel was his son from his first marriage to Susan Caroline Hardin. I also show three other children: Donald, Ralph, and Ruby. Do they belong to Lou? I'd like their birth and death dates (not 'abouts').
