Hi, I found the obituary of Sarah (Ruth) Holmes in the Chariton, Iowa newspaper, the
Chariton Leader. I see you posted this:' Death of Mrs. Hiram M. Holmes.' She is
my second great grand-aunt. I hope you are related, as I have a lot of info about her
family, and hope you have something (or a lot) to add.
I live in KS, and they are going to install a granite marker, for this woman's
father, John Ruth, b. 1751, in Crawford Co., IN, on June 8, of 2007. I have been trying
to find living relations of this family to help celebrate this wonderful day. I finally
found his service, so he is now a Revolutionary War Patriot, for sure!
I get to do the unveiling, along with another cousin, and this will take place in
Crawford Co., IN, north of Taswell, near John Ruth's farm. I even get to make a
little talk about John. Hope to hear from you soon. Hope you are related!!!!!!!!!!
