Can someone point Greg to the Lucas County Veterans Memorial Park Committee?
I don't know Melody Allen or Earl Comstock.

My name is Greg Moore, the son of “Mecan” Ardis Oliver Moore of Chariton.
My uncle, his brother, was Lloyd Moore of Chariton. I received notice
that the Lucas County Veterans Memorial Park Committee is compiling a list
of men and women that served in the Merchant Marines during a period of
war. My Dad died when I was only 12 years of age thus my memories are
55-56 years old but I do definitely remember Merchant Marine photographs,
uniform buttons, stories, uniform parts, etc. Having said that, I’m afraid
all I have now are those memories. I have no Idea how or where to begin to
“prove” Dad’s service. I hope that might be where your expertise tracking
history would kick in! He was born in 1912, died in 1961 and is buried in
the Catholic cemetery on the NE corner of Chariton. Though buried there he
was never of the Catholic faith so I don’t know how much help that might
be. Most, if not all the people in Chariton that would have know him are
gone. Lloyd lived much longer but is now also gone.
I am starting to wonder around in my writings so I’ll quit for now. I hope
you might have an idea or two on how my questions might be answered for the
Veterans Committee. I very much appreciate your time!
