Subject: Lucas County Marriages 1865 Question
Dear Nancee Seifert,
I am attempting to find what happened to Rachel Kendall, daughter of Abbott
Kendall. Abbott is my third great grandfather. The Lucas County Marriages
1865, which you so graciously transcribed, shows that she married Jacob
Massand (?) I know the spelling is questioned...another Iowa Marriages
record on Ancestry.com has it as Jacob Maport. I don't believe either one
of these is correct, however, since there is not a Jacob Massand or Jacob
Maport on any census in 1870 or 1860. No Rachel Massand or Rachel Maport
either. Is there any way you could scan the actual marriage record and
email it to me. I do a lot of typing records for Ancestry.com World
Archives Project and thought I might be able to help decipher the writing.
Any help you could give would be appreciated. I love your name. I have an
Aunt Phoebe Garrett that married a Fred Seifert in Moniteau County Missouri.
Wonder if your husband is part of the same group of Seifert's. It can be
such a small world.

I am looking for anyone who has info. on RACHAEL KENDALL who married JACOB
MASSENA. RACHEAL was the daughter of ABBOTT KENDALL. I had earlier
transcribed marriage records - Sept. 21, 1865 for Jacob Massand (?) and
Rachael Kendall. I believe Jacob's last name to be Massena (not Massand).
I was contacted by Charlotte Sims, asking for any information that might be found about Rachael Kendall & Jacob 'Massena'... Thanks for any help. Nancee Seifert at iggy29(a)grm.net
