I am looking for any records of Lewis Ferm (could be spelled Fern?). My late aunt told me she thought he was called Axel.
Lewis was born about 1829 in Sweden, and married (perhaps his second wife) Carolina Munson (Månsdotter) Anderson 19 Jan 1878. Lewis was listed as 49 years of age on the date of their marriage.
In the 1900 Lucas Co., Iowa Census, Lincoln Twp. (Vol 47, ED 69, Line 97) Lewis was living with Carolina's nephew, John A. Holmes, and listed as a boarder. Carolina is living in a different household with a Mitilda Fern (Jern?) age 71. Mitilda is listed as a boarder. The 1900 census indicates Carolina is still married.
I know when Carolina died and is buried, but I am trying to find out when and where Lewis Ferm died, is buried, or if he survived to be counted in the 1910 Census, or if there is an obituary, or any other record on Lewis Ferm.
If anyone has any information they can quickly check, or can make any suggestions on where to look or who to contact, I would greatly appreciate it.
