I had previously been looking at Lutheran Churches in Chariton to see if my Swedish family had registered with a church and found that only my 2nd great grandmother Carolina Ferm (born Månsdotter and married first to Sven Petter (Hansson) Anderson) was listed as joining the First Lutheran Church of Chariton on 18 Mar 1883, no husband or other family members were listed. She was apparently married to her second husband, Lewis Axel Ferm at the time.
In reading her son's obituary (Swan Anderson) it indicates he united with the Methodist Church at fifteen years of age. That would have been in 1865. Does anyone know of a Methodist church that would have been in existence about 1865?

Could someone on the list check and see if there is a marriage between Nels Erickson and Anna Lovisa Munson around 1884/1885. He would have been about 25-26 and she would have been about 24-25. Their children were all born in Nebraska, but I believe they married in Chariton.
Both were born in Sweden and Anna's Swedish name was Gustafsdotter. I don't know for sure which name she would have used as her half brothers used the surname Holmes.
Thank you very much.
