I am wanting to make a trip up to Iowa to look through a couple of cemeteries
and am needing to know if any exists and where in the following areas.
My RAGAN line on the 1880, 1900,1910, 1920 census lived in Lucas County,
Lincoln Twp and English Twp. What would these two townships be today? I know
my mother was raised in Chariton so wasnt sure if one or both of these
townships evolved into Chariton. And if so then I know where the Chariton
Cemetery is located.
Also my gg grandfather RAGAN was the only one who lived in Monroe County first
in Wayne Twp and then in Jackson Twp during the 1900 to 1920 census periods.
What would these have become today?
If there is a website that I could find this information from please let me

My grandfather, William White, states he was born in IA in May 1855. His parents were Horatio N. and Elma White. They resided in Martins Ferry (Belmont) OH. Horatio was a "mechanic" by trade and patented a piece of farm machinery. Can anyone tell me where to find a birth registration? or what took place in Iowa in 1855 that might have a bearing on farm equipment manufacturing? Thank you.
James was 19 on the 1880 US census in Michigan. A family letter states he came back from Iowa for his brother's funeral sometime in the early part of this century.
Is someone researching this surname in Iowa perhaps or possibly have a referral/recommendation?
