I assure you all that I planned my trip very well. This was in the planning some 3 months
in advance. I wrote to the Genealogical Society on September 1, 2003 explaining that I
would be there the week of October 6. I had no answer to my letter. I also e-mailed an
individual with the information that I was seeking and had no answer. On around the end
of September, I e-mailed the list and requested more information and who could I contact
in order to make arrangements with the Genealogical Society for help and Sharon answered
and gave me 3 telephone numbers to contact persons in the society. I did get through to a
real gracious lady that gave me information about the society (I won't go into detail)
and the telephone number of the president of the society. I called her. I asked if she
had received my letter and she stated that she had. My daughter and I were in Canton,
Missouri and were on our way to Anamosa. She stated that it was not worth my trip as they
ve anything on the persons that I was researching. Since I had requested information
several times for these my ancestors, knowing that Jones County was the last place they
lived, I assumed there was information somewhere on them.
I am not naming names, as I don't want to embarrass anyone.
This will be the last I will have to say about this subject.
