Hi,
I read an e-mail from Rebekah to Ed about this Sanitarium and wondered why my
G-Grandfather, who suffered with TB, chose to re-locate to Canyon County,
Idaho for 4 years for his rehab from this very illness. He was born in
Johnson Co., so one would think that he had knowledge of it!
According to written history and a rememberance of the very man himself. he
took his family to recoup. My Grandfather, Earl K. Duncan was born there in
1892. The altitude bothered My G-Grandmother so much, they came back to Iowa
(Sac County). Robert Duncan lived until 1946! Pretty good for someone who had
TB! He was born in 1859. Maybe this Oakdale was not opened in the 1890's? Any
thoughts? Thanks, Kathy
