When I searched for Theresa. I went back to the 1880 census and saw that they spelled her
name as Teresa. So I did the search in 1900 as Teresa b.1865, plus or minus 2 years,
sometimes I use the five year spread too. Like trying to find Adolphus (who I never did
find), then I searched by the state she was born in. Now sometimes that does not work, but
in this case it did. I think you do the same thing. Just that her name was spelled
Teresa. With Adolphus I do the Adol*** and tried Man* Mahn and so forth. Wondering if
he used a different first name as he got older.
It is too bad that Iowa County and Benton County don't have their cemeteries all
transcribed. That is great when you can find a site with all the cemeteries transcribed.
I did find a map with the cemeteries for Benton County, maybe down the road they will have
them on the Internet: http://www.rootsweb.com/~iabenton/map.htm
Being that Iowa County is right below Benton I am guessing George Mann is buried in one of
the two counties. My gr gr grandparents are buried in Pottawattamie County (Council
Bluffs area). She died in 1895 and there is not a death record for her. I got the date
off her headstone. Death records were many times not recorded at this time, so you might
not find George unless there is a headstone for him.
This was fun. I am glad I found your post. Thanks again for posting Ralph's death
record for me to see success!!
