Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Hello list members,
The message below came from Ancestry's Iowa County, Iowa message board.
They have made lot's of changes to the boards and now we get garbled
messages that do not provide a link back to the original message. I
believe I'll stop these from coming into this mailing list. It's strange
that Ancestry would change the boards so much that they are now
incompatable with their own mailing lists.
Here's the link to the original board message thread on this subject. The
most recent "J S Taylor" message is at the bottom:

IAGenWeb is in need of county coordinators! Have you spent time
researching your family tree? Have you found some little tidbit of
information that led to another tidbit and on and on until you fleshed
out a story about how your family came to Iowa and helped settle a town
or about how your grandparents came to America? The excitement of
finding these little tidbits can create a love of genealogy and a desire
to help others find those little tidbits.
If you have computer skills and a couple hours a week to spare for
volunteering, please consider becoming a county coordinator for
IAGenWeb, which has been called “the best Iowa genealogy website” by
/Family Tree Magazine/. Read about becoming a county coordinator in the
Volunteer Primer at http://iagenweb.org/state/primer.htm, then check out
this list of available counties: *BLACK HAWK,* *CARROLL,* *CHICKASAW,*
*CLINTON,* *CRAWFORD,* *DES MOINES,* *GUTHRIE,* *HARRISON,* *IDA,*
