Re: Alice (Canfield) McKinder burial site. Forgot to mention that she died circa 1913 about age 50, lived most her life in Lucas County, daughter of Orsemus & Hannah Canfield a local farmer and mechanic, had umpteen children who all lived in Lucas, Monroe and Wayne Counties. Any direction would be appreciated. Sandy Childs in Calif.
Help!!! My great-grandmother, Alice (Canfield) McKinder (wife of George McKinder) is purported to be buried in Hiteman, Monroe Co., IA. All I have is a small newspaper mention in a Chariton,Lucas Co. newspaper where it says her sister: "Minnie Canfiled just returned from the funeral of her sister in Hiteman". I've looked at internet website of Iowa cemetaries, but Alice's name does not appear anywhere - nor does the gravesites of two infants of hers.
What cemetaries would you suggest I look at? Since she was a wife of a poor miner or "yardman", her tombstone may not have survived -- but where would I go for a list of cemetary internees at the Hiteman area cemetaries?

p.s. Her husband, my great grandfather moved away to live with his older son in Dike, Grundy Co., and lived for another 10 years. She is not buried there.
