I've "rescued" a group of three photographs all belonging to the MCINTOSH -
RYAN - JENNINGS Family of Winneshiek and Howard Counties in Iowa. The three
photographs are as follows:
1. Sarah MCINTOSH RYAN, taken at the Solberg Studio in Decorah, IA,
1880's or 1890's, in her 20's
2. May MCINTOSH RYAN, taken at the W. Brown Studio in Cresco, IA,
1890's, in her teens or 20's
3. Winnie RYAN JENNINGS, taken at the W. Brown Studio in Cresco, IA,
1890's, about 6 years old
Based on limited research I was able to gather some information regarding
this family and have included it below:
Sarah Rosella MCINTOSH b. 24 Sept 1869 in Winneshiek Co. IA to parents
Alexander MCINTOSH and Charlotte CRAWFORD. Sarah died 26 Apr 1896.

I am hoping to find someone from the family so that these wonderful old
photographs can be returned to their rightful place with family. If you are
a member of this family, or you know someone who might be, please contact
I've "rescued" an old photograph of Maude GARDNER which was taken at the W.
Brown Studio in Cresco, Iowa. The photograph appears to have been taken in
the 1880's or 1890's with Maude appearing to be in her teens at the time it
was taken. Thanks to the assistance of a GARDNER Family Researcher I
believe this may well be Maud GARDNER who was the daughter of Zachary &
Clara GARDNER of Bluffton, IA. Maud was age 8 years old during the 1895
census of IA, living in Bluffton, IA which was about 12 miles from Cresco,
IA where the photograph was taken. The family remained in Bluffton during
the 1900 census as well.
I am hoping to locate someone from this family so that the photograph can be
returned to their care. If you are a member of this family, or you know
someone who might be, please contact me.
