Reading through the archives, I notice back in Jan 2003 Laurel mentioned the KEITHs who were a collateral line to her CAMPBELLs. This is interesting to me as we're pretty sure the Robert Brown enumerated in 1856 w/the Hugh CAMPBELL family is the same Robert BROWN enumerated with the J. W. Keith family in 1860. My question is whether there was a family tie between Robert and these families?
I believe John Wesley Keith married one of Hugh Campbell's daughters so where/how does my Robert Brown fit in? These folks all came from Shelby Co, IN, but since he's in these households in 1856 and 1860, what was the connection?
1856 - Franklin Brown born ca 1856, IA; father - Robert Brown
1856 - Robert Brown was enumerated w/Hugh CAMPBELL's family
1860 - Robert Brown enumerated w/J. W. Keith family
Franklin Brown enumerated ??????; Franklin's mother - ?????
1861 - Robert Brown m. Mary E. Bone
1870 - Franklin Brown enumerated w/Robert Brown family
Franklin's mother - ?????
We've not been able to find Franklin Brown or his mother on the 1860 census.
So was Robert somehow connected to the CAMPBELLs? Or were these folks just acquaintances from Shelby Co, IN. Anyone have info to share? Or clues?
