Kristi J. (Ward) Cihacek, 33, of Mondamin, formerly of Council Bluffs lost
her courageous battle with Leukemia on September 26, 2005.
Kristi was born on June 23, 1972 in Omaha and grad- uated from St. Albert
High School in 1990. Kristi also received her associates degree from Iowa
Western. She worked for Farm Credit Service of America in Omaha for the past five
years, and is a member of the Mondamin Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her beloved grandmother, Alice Ward on Sept. 3,
Kristi is survived by her husband of 13 years Eric; daughters Marissa age
12, and Taylor age 11 all of Mondamin; mother, Donna Ward, of Council Bluffs;
grandfather, Charles 'Wayne' Ward, of Council Bluffs; sisters and spouses,
Michelle Perrault and husband, Don, of Omaha, Betty Jo Hauser and husband, Jeff,
of Lohrville, Iowa and Carol Metcalf and husband, Darrin, of Newton, Mo.;
aunts; uncles; cousins; and many many friends.
Visitation with the family tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-
Meyer-Woodr- ing Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at
Mondamin Baptist Church in Mondamin, Iowa, with a luncheon to follow im-
mediately. Interment will be at 1:30 p.m. at Cedar Lawn Cemetery in Council Bluffs.

Marjorie K. Kraushaar, 92, of Modale, passed away Thursday, Sept. 1 at the
Longview Care Center in Missouri Valley.
Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 5 at the Methodist Church in Modale
Shurmaine McAlpine officiating.
Organist was Dan Hutchinson and vocalists Bradley Leu, Joel Kraushaar, Joshua
P. Kraushaar and Joshua D. Kraushaar.
Selections were, "It is Well With My Soul," and "Precious Lord Take My Hand."
bearers were Bradley Leu, Joel Kraushaar, Joshua P. Kraushaar, Tom
McWilliams, Michael Johnson, Joshua D. Kraushaar. Final resting place was Calhoun
Cemetery near Missouri Valley.
Marjorie was born March 10, 1913 in Modale to Guy R. and Susie E. (Stokes)
She attended school in Modale and graduated fromthe Modale High School. She
was married to Elijah "Lige" Kruashaar May 21, 1931 in Missouri Valley. Lige
was a school teacher and they resided in Iowa and Nebraska before moving to
Modale where they owned and operated
the Kraushaar Hardware in Modale. They moved to Missouri Valley where
Marjorie worked as a receptionist for the Hennessy-VanCleave-Hurley Funeral Home
for several years. She was a member of the Modale Methodist Church where she
played the organ for many Sunday services as well as weddings and funerals.
Marjorie was also a member of the Eastern Star and White Shrine. Lige passed
April 5, 1995.
Survivors include her son Fredrick Winston Kraushaar and wife Sammie of
Tulsa, Okla., Paul O. Kraushaar and wife Amy of Muscatine; daughters-in-law
Gloria (Kraushaar) McIntyre of Twin Lakes, Iowa; Kim (Kraushaar) Bentsen of
Modale; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, Marjorie was preceded in death sons Dr. Maurice E. and
Robert L., sister Evangline Olinger and brother Fred Olinger.

Cecile Mae Johnson, 98, died August 30 at her home in Persia.
Funeral services were held Friday, Sept. 2 at St. John's Lutheran Church in
Persia with Pastor Duane Annunson officiating. Marian Eckmann accompanied
vocalist Clifford Killpack. Casket bearers were David Miller, Dean Killpack, Jim
Baldauf, Gail Peterson, Jeff Killpack, Dennis Johnson, Steve Baldauf and Rick
Suntken. Honorary casket bearers were Steve Suntken and Scott Suntken.
Cecile, the daughter of William James and Eliza N. McGinness) Hutchinson, was
born March 23, 1907 in Hazel Dell Township, Pottawattamie County, and was
one of six children in the family. She was baptized at Hazel Dell and confirmed
at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in rural Neola. Cecile attended Hazel Dell
School until the eighth grade. She was united in marriage to Marvin Chris
Johnson on October 29, 1930 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in rural Neola. After
their marriage they farmed in the areas of Missouri Valley, Honey Creek, Hazel
Persia. They were the parents of five children, Bernice, Mildred, Mary Jane,
Duane and Eileen.
Cecile was known for her banana cream pies at threshing time and for her huge
strawberry patch. She helped milk all the cows until the children were old
enough to take over the milking. Cecile enjoyed making quilts and quilting
them for her children and grandchildren. She also crocheted many dollies and
afghans for her family and friends.
Survivors include her children Bernice and her husband Ralph Baldauf of
Omaha, Neb., Mildred and her husband Bob Miller of Atlantic, Mary Jane and her
husband Keith Peterson of Shelby, Eileen and her husband Frank Killpack of
Neola, and a daughter-in-law Marlene Johnson of Persia; 25 grandchildren; 52
great-grandchildren and 14 great-great grandchildren, other relativesand many
