Hi, Sorry about the delay in responding to your e-mail. I have not heard of
the Headlee's that you mentioned. I do not have very much on the Headlee's.
Our great grandfather's John Talley Reed1st wife was Mary Ellen Headlee b.
1860 d. 1949 in California, daughter of George Headlee and Martha Parrish.
Thanks for asking.
I am sure your Headlee's are related but I don't know how.
I am looking for any information on the Hugh Campbell family of Panora (Cass Twp.). Hugh died in 1854, and his wife Cynthia in 1878. I found the information about he and his family in the Guthrie County History of 1884. Would like to know if anyone has information about any of their children.

Charles (1832-1906) married Patricia Hosier
Catherine (1834-1876) married Nathan Linebach/Leinbach
George (1837-1927) married Mary Ann Batschelett

William Henry (1840-1919) married Nellie Ambler
Hugh Jr. (1843-1861) killed in the Civil War
Sararh (1845-1858) died young
Ezra (1848-1916) married Mary Roberts
Albert (1850-1940) married Hannah Wiggins
Austin (1853-1929) married Nancy Shepherd
Any information about any of these families and their children would be greatly appreciated.
To order the publications that are offered at Guthrie County
Genealogical Society, send for their membership application as well ($7
per year) and request of their list of publications to: P.O. 96,
Jamaica, IA 50128-0096
I have found it is worth getting their newsletter periodically, as they
have historical articles published in it that is very interesting. Each
newsletter also provides a list of their publications and prices. The
membership is inexpensive and it is very worthwhile to support this
little town library.
I have nearly all of the publications and have continually assisted
Guthrie Co. researchers over the years since 1998. Don't forget to view
the GenWeb site for Guthrie County and you will find others willing to
assist with family connections as well. Online search topics is
constantly changing and improving so it is worthwhile to go back and
check on the website for updates.
Also check familysearch.com for updates on these families as there may
be pedigree and family information added since the last time you
searched there. This site is constantly upgrading their info and have
also included 1880 census and catalogue location sources available.
Many of the genealogical society and historical libraries have
Ancestry.com available so that you can search the US census records
online from 1790 up through 1930.
And then there is also the message boards of those searching for
particular surnames in Guthrie County or by Surname online. An
interesting way to find new cousins searching the same family lines. I
have personally made connections here after several years leaving a
message about an ancestor. We are at different levels of our search and
all you have to do is be patient and eventually you will have a cousin
respond to your query.
Guthrie County Gen. Soc. library is one of the best sources of its kind.
A gold mine for those searching in this county, since they also have
records (indexes) of what is held at the county courthouse.
I have listed all those publications that I know about on the Guthrie Co
Please understand that the prices may have changed since I last had a copy
of the list, but this will give you an idea. There are also several of us
that are willing to share single or a few lookups.
Please go to http://www.rootsweb.com/~iaguthri/html/society.html for the
publications and mailing info.
and http://www.rootsweb.com/~iaguthri/html/lookups.html for lookups.

Please excuse this long email, but I wanted this information to be
available in the archives for the IAGUTHRI-L list.
My grandparents were Robert Burl and Hazel Harriet (SAUVAGO) REYNOLDS
who owned the farm that currently backs up to the Guthrie Center
fairgrounds, now owned by one of the Sheeter families. I was born and
grew up in Dayton, Ohio, but spent many of my summers on the farm with
my grandparents. And although my aunt, Lillian (REYNOLDS) Smith who
passed away in 2002, was my last living relative in Guthrie County, I
still have many friends there.
(1) Robert Burl REYNOLDS was born 14 Aug 1892 in Wichita, Seely Twp,
Guthrie Co, IA, the fourth of six children born to (2) Simpson and
Alfredda June (BELL) REYNOLDS. Robert died 29 Dec 1957 in Guthrie
Center, Guthrie Co, IA and is buried in Union Cemetery, Guthrie Center.
Prior to Guthrie Center, Robert farmed in Wichita, Guthrie Co, IA where
he met Hazel. Robert and Hazel Harriet SAUVAGO were married 3 Jun 1914
in Guthrie Center, IA. They were the parents of five children, one
having died in infancy, two having passed away in later life, and two
Hazel Harriet SAUVAGO was born 09 Feb 1893 in Audubon, Audubon Co, IA,
the first of four children born to Louis "Jack" and Asenath Annie
(SMOUSE) SAUVAGO. Hazel died 23 Jun 1984 in Panora, Guthrie Co, IA and
is buried in Union Cemetery, Guthrie Center.
Louis "Jack" SAUVAGO was born 26 Mar 1848 in Louisville, Stark
Co, OH, the third of seven children of Francis "Frank" and Barbara
(SHELLENBARGER) SAUVAGO, Frank Sauvago having immigrated from Alsace
Lorraine are of France. Jack's parents remained in Ohio. Jack Sauvago
died 23 Jan 1936 in Wichita, Guthrie Co, IA and is buried in Seely
Township Cemetery near Wichita, IA. Jack was a farmer and raised
horses. His house still stands near Wichita.
Jack married first Viola BLACKMAN (b. 16 Aug 1857, d. 10 Mar
1891) on 2 Apr 1877 in Muscatine, IA. Six children were born to this
Jack married second Asenath Annie SMOUSE on 17 Mar 1892 in
Audubon Co, IA. Four children were born to this marriage. They were
members of the Methodist Church in Wichita, IA.
Asenath Annie SMOUSE was born 2 Feb 1862 in Bedford Co, PA, the
ninth of ten children born to Samuel and Harriet (THOMAS) Smouse.
Asenath died 9 Aug 1937 in Wichita, Guthrie Co, IA and is buried in
Seely Township Cemetery near Wichita, IA.
(2) Simpson REYNOLDS was born 09 May 1850 in Lawrence Co, IN, the first
of three children born to Robert and Leaner (HOOPINGARNER) REYNOLDS.
Simpson died 25 Jan 1917 in Valley Twp, Guthrie Co, IA and is buried in
Union Cemetery, Guthrie Center.
Simpson married Alfredda June BELL on 6 Feb 1879 in Wichita, Seely Twp,
Guthrie Co, IA.
Alfredda June BELL was born 23 Aug 1858 in Story Co, IA, the last of
eight children born to John J. and Sarah Ann (KELLEY) BELL. Alfredda
died 1 Apr 1950 in Guthrie Center, Guthrie Co, IA and is buried in Union
Cemetery, Guthrie Center.
(3) Robert REYNOLDS was born 1 Feb 1828 in Lawrence Co, IN, the fifth of
seven known children of Thomas Lightfoot and Nancy (HENDERSON) Reynolds.
Robert died 7 Oct 1886 in Victory Twp, Guthrie Co, IA and is buried in
Moffitts Grove Cemetery, Guthrie County.
Robert married Leaner HOOPINGARNER on 15 Mar 1849 in Lawrence Co, IN.
Robert, along with his brother Jonathan and his mother Nancy, moved from
Indiana to Guthrie Co, IA in Sep 1855.
Leaner HOOPINGARNER was born 9 Jul 1830 in Lawrence Co, IN, the first of
seven children of Daniel and Elizabeth (McKEGG) HOOPINGARNER. Leaner
died 10 Jan 1915 in Audubon Co, IA and is buried in Moffitts Grove
Cemetery, Guthrie County.
(4) Thomas Lightfoot REYNOLDS was born about 1762, possibly in NC. It
is unknown who his parents were, possibly Christopher and Mary
(LIGHTFOOT) REYNOLDS of Isle of Wight, VA. Mary died ca. 1762, about
the time Thomas would have been born, and it is believed she may have
died in childbirth. History states that Thomas died in 1830 in Lawrence
Co, IN. No grave or other evidence has been found to substantiate
Thomas's death information.
Thomas married Nancy HENDERSON on 23 Sep 1818 in Blount Co, TN. After
Thomas died Nancy married William GUTHRIE on 23 Jan 1835 in Lawrence Co,
IN. William died a year and a half later. The 1850 Lawrence Co, IN
census shows Nancy as head of household with Jonathan, Robert, Leanna;
1860 Guthrie Co, IA census shows Nancy GUTHRIE (age 66) living in
household of Robert Reynolds and Leanna, along with Jonathan. There is
no evidence that Thomas Reynolds was ever in Iowa. As an added note,
Thomas and Nancy's son Jonathan named his son Thomas Lightfoot. This
younger Thomas Lightfoot Reynolds was b. 11 Jul 1870, d. 4 May 1922, and
buried in Moffitts Grove Cemetery in Guthrie Co, IA.
Nancy HENDERSON was born 6 Jul 1794 in VA, the third of eight children
of Jonathan and Jane (THOMAS) HENDERSON. Nancy died 28 Apr 1864 in
Guthrie Co, IA and is buried in Moffitts Grove Cemetery in Guthrie
Is anyone researching any of these people?

with a cemetery ordering the book. They are not expensive & very helpful.

I am searching for information about the families of Bartly KELLY, Edward BOSOLD, William McQUAID and possibly a CURTIS
(whose first name is unknown)
Would appreciate any and all information, and can exchange on the Kelly and Bosold early families.
Thanks Pam, I would very much like to see it.
We are related to Reed, Parrish, Headlee(also, spelled Headly), Talley,
Jordan, Foulke, Lambert, Boles.
John Talley Reed maybe in that cemetery list. I am not sure.
Thanks for your help. Are you related to the Reed's?
I will get the information for you soon or at least over the weekend. I
know my Jordans are related to the Reeds. I am just not sure how the
relationship went. They all lived in Montieth, Iowa. My Dad recalls his
mother visiting Reeds. They lived in a large white house in Montieth. The
Jordans farmed. Uncle Sidney Jordan was the last of the Jordans to live in
Montieth. He moved to town after he gave up farming. There are several
Jordans buried in Montieth. We are related to Thomas & Margaret Jordan,
Sidney Jordan & Ira Jordan. The other Jordans I am not sure how they fit
in. We decorate graves at Montieth, but were unable to go this year & I am
not sure about 2005. Have you ever been there?

Their father was John Foulke Reed married Gertrude Lambert. They lived in
Guthrie Center and Montieth. Guthrie Co., Iowa.
My Reed family is very related to the Jordan Family. Bonam Reed married
Rebecca Talley of Morgan Co.,Ohio. They had 9 children, of the nine children 3
married Jordan children;
Harmon Talley Reed b. 7th December 1838 in Morgan. Ohio married Louise Jordan
b. 28 November 1836 married 24 October 1858.
Priscilla Reed b. 30 August 1943 Morgan Co., married Abram Jordan 22 February

I found our grandfather John F. Reed living next door to David Jordan on the
1900 Guthrie Center Census.
We have a lot of Reeds in Guthrie Co., Iowa.

Townsend. He and his wife Maria (RUTTER) moved to Panora, Guthrie
County, around 1870, and died there in 1891 and 1893, She brought two

name of BAXLEY. Maria and William had 3 daughters together, Florence
and twins Maggie & Minnie. All girls were born in Illinois, but
married in Guthrie County - either Panora or Guthrie Center.
I believe that all the girls lived out their lives in Guthrie County:
