I am researching a Holliday family that moved to Guthrie County,
Iowa in the mid-1860s. James Holliday was born in 1820 in
Pennsylvania and moved to Marshall County, Virginia. He married
Mary Jane Whittingham there in 1842. They had six children in
West Virginia. I believe Mary Jane died in West Virginia.
James Holliday brought his six children to Guthrie County, Iowa.
1) Amanda, born 1844, married Jno. Jones.
2) George W., born 1847, married Honora F.
i) Roscoe D.
ii) Clarence Clifton
3) Joanna Irene, born 1849.
4) James, born 1851, married Lovina.
5) Mary E., born 1853, married George E. Smith.
6) Estelle, born 1857, married Charles Smith.
i) James William
ii) Lillian Mae
iii) Claude L.
iv) Clifford Lee
Is anyone else researching this family? Can anyone add to this
information? I have wondered especially if George E. Smith and
Charles Smith were brothers. Thanks for any help.

I am hoping someone can help me with an obituary look-up. It is for Catherine Campbell Leinbach, wife of Nathan Leinbach, and her date of death was 30 May 1876. I am not sure that Guthrie County papers go back that far. She would have died in PA, but her family was still in the Panora area, and maybe one of those "Campbell family receives word...etc, etc." kind of notifications appeared in the paper. It's probably too much to ask to have an obituary appear! Her mother, Cynthia Campbell was still alive at that time, as were her many brothers (George, Wm., Ezra, Albert, and Austin) and her sisters (Martha Campbell Gilbert and May Campbell Tyler).
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM ROOTSWEB
Beginning Monday, 10 June 2002, RootsWeb will begin the complex
and time-consuming process of upgrading our servers to new hardware.
What does this mean for you? Well, it means some servers will be
unavailable during this time (including message boards and mailing
lists) and we are asking for your patience. When the time comes
to move list servers, we will be halting operation on the machine to
complete the move.
We expect to have the machines down the least amount of time
possible. No mail will be sent from or posted to your mailing lists. We
not expect to lose any messages.
FTP will be down so that changes can't be made to web pages until
everything is working correctly on the new servers. There will
be a short time that the pages will not be available as the transfer
Thank you for your patience and understanding while we go through
a few "growing pains." For up-to-date information about the different
resources, you can visit http://helpdesk.rootsweb.com as the move
