I would suspect that the reference in the Bre Cem records stating father
headstone would mean that there is a headstone that says "Father", which
would indicate he was a father of children.
I've often seen the same thing for mothers who have children.

As you know there are varous twps in any given county. Brethren Cem is
located in Cass Twp of Guthrie County. Cass Twp is situated at eastern
border centrally located - s of Richland Twp, and n of Jackson Twp.
Within Cass Twp - there are four cemeteries: Yale, Brethren, Panora
West and Greenwood/East Cem.
Brethren is located in section 29 not too far from the western border of

Is anyone researching the family of Francis M. (Frank) and Mary F. Warner
CONNER who were living in Bagley in 1900? They had at least 2 daughters,
Martha J., wife of ?? CHAPMAN of Bagley and Daisy F., who later lived in
Mason City, Cerro Gordo Co, IA.
Francis "Frank" served in Co "F", 28th Iowa Infantry in the Civil War and
died 16 Mar 1911 in the Iowa Soldiers Home in Marshalltown, Iowa. He was
born 8 Oct 1838 in Sheridan, Hamilton Co, IN.
Mary F. (WARNER) CONNER was born May 1842 in Indiana. Her parents were
both born in Baden, Germany . . . . I have photos plus 6 generations of
Mary's line in Germany to share with descendants of this family.

In the past week, I have traced an ancestor to the Panora area. Thanks to the efforts of two kind look-ups, I know that J. M. JONES (59 yrs.) and his family were in the 1910 census. His wife was Emma (55 yrs.), and four children, Frivey (?) (32 yrs.), Earl (30 yrs.), Pearl (30 yrs.), and Lila (27) all lived at home. Another look-up found these names in the Bretheran Cemetery Record Book--Alice E., Earl, Earnest F., Emma S., J.M., Minerva, and Pearl. I have no idea how big the Bretheran Cemetery is, but is there someone in the area I can write to and get the information off the headstones or the complete cemetery records? Is there someone who goes to the cemetery who would look on the directory and copy the information? I don't know if all these Jones names are mine, but the greatest majority seem to be. I wondered if they were all buried together. If I could get some death dates, I might be able to get obituaries, if they are available in your area. According to the census look-up, the mother and first daughter were deaf and dumb. I am wondering why all these children lived at home when they are so old. So many questions--I would be so glad to hear from anyone with any helpful ideas or anyone who might be connected with these names.
