Robert GORDON b. 1790 PA is listed on the IGI as having a wife Elizabeth, but there is evidence that Robert & Mary MORRIS had the children below -- most in Franklin Co, OH. [couples1 thru 7 wed @ Delaware Co. IN. All but Robert's wife were on the 1850 Census of Fremont Co, IA]
Robert Gordon 1790 PA + Mary MORRIS of Columbus OH

2. Mary Gordon 1815 OH + Robert WATKINS, 1812 Wayne Co, IN

Robert was 40 in 1930 and living next door to a John Gordon age 60-70. That may be Robert's father. Family legend hints that Robert had a brother named John.
The 1830 Census of Delaware Co., IN shows 3 Gordons: James, John & Robt. [u=under]
Page 290 Mt. Pleasant John Gordon Male(s) u5=1, 15-u20=1, 70-u80=1 Female(s) 60-u70=1

Family legend also has it that Robert's Parents were Robert C. Gordon & Sarah Aut [both in Scotland] and that they also had two other sons, William and Joseph. According to that legend Robert came to America as a young man and m. Mary Morris. [doesn't jibe with being b. 1790 PA] Seek evidence amplifying, supporting or refuting any part of above. Cheers, AJ

William Baker, with wife, Sarah, and daughters Mary, Nancy, Prudence and Elmira are listed in Hendricks Twp.
Shelby Co., Indiana, on the 1850 census. They went to Iowa a month later.
I need proof of parents for William Baker, born 1793 in Kentucky.
Mary and Nancy vanished before 1856. Where did they go?

I'm seeking any information re my grandmother, Daisy May Hipsher, and her family. The family appears on the 1900 Fremont County census, but I've searched all of the databases I've been able to locate online and find no mention of this family before or after the 1900 census - with the exception of SSDI listings of the Hipsher children's deaths many years later. I confess to being very new at this, so perhaps I've not located everything that might be available. I'm a resident of the Netherlands, which makes in-person research in Iowa virtually impossible and leaves me dependent upon the internet.
Daisy May Hipsher taught school from the age of 16 (1901) until her marriage to Anderson Fish Ferguson of Vigo Co. Indiana in approximately 1908, after which the couple relocated to Oklahoma. It's highly unlikely that she taught anywhere but Fremont County, as her youngest sisters were born between 1902 and 1908 in Fremont County and another younger sister was one of her students.
Many years ago, I saw a small school "yearbook" from her teaching career, which listed her as the teacher and gave the names of her students, including a younger sister, Lucy Hipsher. I'm wondering if anyone might have such a memento or if there are official school records dating back that far. Any shred of information regarding the Hipsher family (names below) or my grandfather, Anderson Fish Ferguson (who apparently came from Indiana to Iowa) will be most appreciated. Thanking you in advance for your kind assistance. - Patricia
