According to a family bible (not mine) these were supposed to be Nieces and
Nephews of Barzilla Reeves and Grandchildren of Anny Saxton Reeves.
Ida Rea Reeves b. 1886
Gideon Reeves b July 30, 1888
Logan Reeves b. 1891
John Reeves b Nov. 30, 1893
It also stated that Elizabeth Roje (Ross/Roys) Saxton b. Dec. 30, 1807, was
Anny's Saxton's mother.
Anna Saxton was b, in 1821.
Her sister Margaret Elizabeth Roje (Ross/Roys) b. April 29, 1783, married
William S. Reeves in 1810.
There were six children b. 1810 through 1823.
One of the children, William Jr. married Anny Saxton on June 01, 1837 at
Meigs County, Ohio.
William Washington & Anny had four children before moving to Fremont County

My Great Grand Mother, Maria D. Reeves was born Dec. 07, 1842. Although she
lived in Fremont County Iowa all her life, I have not been able to locate her
death date. I last located her listed as Maria Irwin, living with her brother
Amos Reeves in Riverton on the 1900 census. Amos was buried in the Riverton
Cemetery, but no sign of Maria.
I noticed on one of her daughters marriage certificates in 1891 she signed
her name as Marie Conner. She may have lived with or married a man named
Conner, but again I have no information to confirm this.
I find it ironic that in the Fremont County, Iowa Cemetery records book on
page 59, there is a Nellie Conner, buried along with Walter, Clara & Gladys
Irwin. Maria Reeves had married Burwell Peck Irwin, prior to using the name
This Nellie Conner was b. Sep. 16, 1888 and would fall into the time frame as
being a daughter of Maria.
There is a Maria Conner buried in the Hamburg cemetery with a John Conner,
but the only problem I have with this is that her birth date is noted as Dec.
16, 1849 whereas Maria Reeves was born Dec. 04, 1842.
Can anybody help me out with this ?
