I was in hopes someone could tell me the exact date when Delos W. Brown died
in 1930. He is buried in the Sidney Cemetery next to his wife Alice who was
born the same year as Delos W. in 1847 and she died 1929. They are listed on
page 212 under Sidney Cemetery in the Fremont County Iowa, Cemetery Records.
I want to know if I can obtain an obituary of Delos and his wife even though
I only have the years of their death? If someone out their has the ability
to look up this information I would appreciate it. If you at least know
where I can write to for an obituary I would like that information.
Delos's uncle, Jacob Jones Brown married Nancy Thornley Martin January 17,
1858 in Sidney. They had nine children all born near Sidney.
Thank you for your help.
In researching the Hugh C. GAMMON family, shown on the 1880 Fremont Co.,
IA census, Prairie township, I ran across a Bond Record "C", dated 17
January 1899, for A. N. GAMMON "as principal" and J. T. O'Neal and J. R.
Jones "as sureties". The bond was for $1,000 and was to cover A. N.
GAMMON, the guardian of Roy Cox, Ray Cox, Merritt Cox, and Lee Cox, and
his duties to mortgage a certain real estate as ordered by the District
Court in January 1899. My question is: what sorts of circumstances
would have prompted such a court order? Any info will be appreciated.

Surname: SWIGGART, CROUCH, COFFIE
The DAR Marriage Records of Fremont County done in 1935-36 shows two marriages:
Daniel W. to Julia Coffie Mar 26, 1876, and John M. Swiggart to Iephene
Crouch Sep 22 1875. Does anyone have any information on who the parents
of Julia Coffie may have been? The parents of Iephene Crouch?
Any information on John M. Swiggart,Iephene Crouch or Julia Coffie (Coffey)
would be greatly appreciated.

Surname: Benson, Dunning, Wilkerson, Wheeler, Johnson
I believe this is the county I am after... Bedford is in Fremont County
is it not?
In my search for info on Mary Amanda Johnson Wheeler 3rd great grandmother's
family I have come across the following:
Her siblings in the census of Knox Co., Ohio were:
in her 1917 obituary in Afton, Union Co., Ia listed as survivors are:
her sisters Mrs Elizabeth Benson of Bedford, and Mrs Fred Wilkerson of
Mt Ayr and a brother F.W. Johnson also of Mr Ayr then there is a niece,
Mrs Clyde Dunning of Bedford as well. These people have been spread out
over a few counties here. Mary Amanda was married in Osceola. I don't know
if her family followed her from Ohio or not. Her parents were Henry Johnson
and Nancy Ball who were born in PA. Henry was a Oilmaker according to the
1850 Census. If any of these names rings a bell please contact me.
In a message dated 10/3/2000 10:14:15 AM Pacific Daylight Time,
<< Do you have birth and death dates for Adeline? Where is she buried? >>
I wish I did, but no. I do know that Adeline went to Fremont County, Iowa
after her marriage to Hugh Irwin in 1854. I have looked through the Fremont
book, but have not found Adeline. She may have died before 1865 as that is
when Hugh Irwin married again to Hannah Fischer Shober, Hugh's third wife.
The 1860 Iowa census, also list a Edna Halsey (13) previous daughter of
Adaline, and also a Wm. Reeves (9) year old male. Origin unknown.
Adaline was from Ohio, according to 1860 Iowa census.
