Services for Edward A. Borchard were held Saturday, March 8, 1980, at 2 p.m. at the Leyson
Funeral Home in Milford with the Rev. Elmer C. Boom officiating.
Organist was Mrs. Frank Fellows with Mrs. Dwight Hemphill as vocalist. Pallbearers were
Ray Daugherty, Henry Cardell, Roy DePue, Frank Fellows, Howard Borchard, and Kenneth
Edward A. Borchard was born to Ferdinad and Hulda Neitzel Borchard at Atlantic, IA, on
November 7, 1884. He attended school at Milford. In 1908 he was united in marriage to
Mabel Cother at Milford, IA, and to this union four children were born. Mabel passed away
in April of 1918. On April 7, 1928, he was united to Martha Ehler.
He farmed most of his adult life in the Terril and Milford communities. After retiring
from farming he lived in Spencer and Milford. His hobbies included carpentry and
fishing. He has been a patient of the Milford Nursing Home for 10 years.
He passed away on March 4, 1980, at the Milford Nursing Center in Milford.
Survivors include his wife Martha of Milford; two sons, Wendell of Wichita, Kansas; Donald
of Jackson Minnesota; one daughter, Mrs. J.W. Barnard (Lois) of Arroya Grande, California;
one sister, Nettie Pederson of te3xas; 15 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Mabel, his parents, one son, Leonard, and one
grandson, one sister and four brothers.
Interment in the Milford Cemetery, Milford, IA. Leyson Funeral Home is in charge.
